Mingo Town Records (MTM) is a Central Ohio based "record" label dedicated to producing, distributing, and promoting a diverse collection of music created by Ohio recording artists. The label gets its name from the Mingo natives, a small group of Native Americans related to the Iroquois, sometimes called the Ohio Seneca. By the early 1770s, they had moved to central Ohio. One of their villages was on the banks of the Scioto River at the site of modern-day Columbus. Mingo Town Music takes its name in honor of the rich culture and history of the Ohio Valley and those that came before us and those that will come after.

Mingo Town Music is dedicated on creating a unique family, co-opt type atmosphere and relationship among its artist and roster. John Joseph, founder of Mingo Town Music, is a longtime staple of the Central Ohio music scene. In 2009 he founded the Twang Alliance of Central Ohio (TACO), a not for profit organization that focused on creating a fan and artist community for alternative country, roots rock and Americana music. He later went on to produce and host the TACO Podcast with his friend and band mate Jon Schaer.  John is currently a member of the Harvest Kings.

Mingo Town Music is dedicated to making quality music and art available. Please contact us if you would like to sell MTM CDs and accessories in your stores. A MTM representative will be in touch within 48 hours.
